PACT History

Founded in 1968, Parents And Children Together (PACT) is one of Hawaii's leading non-profit organizations providing a wide array of innovative and educational social services to families in need. Assisting more than 16,000 people annually, PACT helps families identify, address and successfully resolve challenges through its 15 statewide programs. Among its services are treatment programs, support for domestic abuse victims, youth activities, financial and child literacy programs and initiatives for early childhood education.

MISSION: To promote and support healthy individuals, families and communities by creating opportunities for them to identify and address their own strengths needs and concerns and successfully realize their potential.

PROGRAMS: PACT offers 15 programs in the following service areas:

· Community Building and Economic Development
· Domestic Violence Prevention and Treatment
· Early Childhood Education
· Economic Development
· Teen Leadership Development
· Mental Health Support

YEAR FOUNDED: 1968

FUNDING: PACT is funded by federal and state contracts, as well as private and individual donations and grants. In addition, the
organization is a partner agency of Aloha United Way.

FACILITIES: PACT offers services on Kauai, Oahu, Maui, Molokai, Lanai, and the Island of Hawaii. Among its facilities are family
centers, domestic violence shelters and transitional homes.

HISTORY: Since its inception in 1968 as a single program in Kalihi, PACT has grown into a statewide organization that touches the
lives of countless families every year.
